Auto Collision Repair understands the significant differences between working on steel versus aluminum repairs. Sending your vehicle to a shop that doesn’t understand these distinctions may do more, if not irreparable, damage to your vehicle. That’s why Auto Collision Repair has trained their employees to expertly mend aluminum and comprehend how it varies from steel.

Our technicians recognize that aluminum doesn’t have the same moldable properties that steel does, nor does it respond to heat as well as steel does. Aluminum is also much stronger and weighs less than steel, allowing aluminum to be a great asset when a truck needs both towing capacity as well as better gas mileage. This is one of the key reasons aluminum requires more attentive care than steel does.

Once aluminum is bent or damaged, it takes aluminum specific tools in order to extract the dents and reshape your vehicle’s exterior. To explain this further, let’s take screws for example. You would use a slot-head screw for small, low profile holes and Phillips screws for easy, self-center holes; but you wouldn’t use a Phillips screwdriver on a flathead screw or vice versa. The same goes for aluminum repair versus metal repair. That’s why Auto Collision Repair has equipped their facilities and technicians with the tools and knowledge to understand these discrepancies and transform your aluminum body back to its pre-accident condition accordingly.
